JUNE

The first sound you hear on JUNE's debut EVOL is the clearing of his throat. This could easily have been edited out, however it remained on the track as a declaration for the world to pay attention. JUNE was ready to deliver his message. This isn't an artist meekly making his presence known, but a master of his craft getting ready to make a statement to the world. With over 45,000 downloads on Datpiff and 200,000 views on YouTube, this Bay Area, by way of Memphis, artist is making a lot of noise for a new comer.

JUNE grew up as Bobby Walton Jr. in West Memphis, TN listening to Marvin Gaye and The Gap Band records at home with his Pops and singing in the church choir. Since the "bunk-bed days", as JUNE calls them, he has been dreaming up music with his little brother, producer, and collaborator, Teddy Walton. Just by listening to JUNE's music, you can immediately tell much of his inspiration comes from his upbringing in the South. Inspired by encouragement from his Aunt Lisa, who recognized he "had the juice from the beginning." JUNE began to create his persona and sound with integrity and originality in his personal life and musical career, as the personal truths he holds true to this day.

Writing his first song at the age of 15 with Teddy, JUNE has had a rare opportunity to develop his artistry from an early age. JUNE's flow, production quality, and lyrics are first class, much like the life style he invokes in his music. Lying underneath the surface of JUNE's tales of love, lust, and luxury is a quiet confidence that is ready to make itself known and EVOL is the masterpiece that just about guarantees that it will be

"I knew from the jump that I wasn't going to have everything that I needed. I knew that I wasn't going to have the super manager and the super label, and the big money put up, and I knew that it was goin' to be a lot of grind behind that album. Because I put so much love in it, I knew that I wasn't goin' to get that much love back. It was goin to take a minute so I called it EVOL. It was like an evolution of something new ..."

Containing features from notable Hip Hop acts like Rockie Fresh, Skewby, and Aer, EVOL is a labor of love and the definition of commitment, as well as, a platform to speak his mind. JUNE makes music because it forces his voice to be heard. "Because it's REAL...I speak about everything. Yeah I know your content gotta' be consistent, but life is not consistent at all! You go through shit...and you have better days."

XXL Magazine says he "juices elements of soul and R&B to create his own blend of Southern hip-hop." The Southern soul of his Memphis roots, along with the innovative pop and swagger in Teddy's production, coalesce into a sound that defines Urban Epic. The music and the words are so intertwined that you can't imagine one without the other. JUNE knows this as his truth – "My favorite track, which will always be my favorite, is "City Love". The magic behind that song cannot be done by nobody but Teddy and me."

Having shared the stage with heavy--hitters such as Mac Miller, Chevy Woods, Ab-Soul, Machine Gun Kelly and Big KRIT, JUNE is coming into his own as a live performer. Executing thrilling sets at SXSW, his live performances have left an undeniable impression on the music industry. Although EVOL has been a long time coming, JUNE's musical ambitions are insatiable. His message and his talent will remain on the minds of his audience long after the stage lights go dark. "To be continued" is the only way to describe what is in store for JUNE's future to come.
